New Skills to impress Lydia (open)

Stiles walked into the ice skating rink and walked up to the counter getting his skates. He remembered how good Lydia was at ice skating and he hoped that if he became good at it, maybe she would go on a skating date with him. He smiles as he started to put his skates on and looked around the room for someone to skate with

Lydia smiled as she glided across the ice, her hair flying in all different directions behind her. She felt free when she was skating, almost like she was in her own little world. She skated around the entire rink then slowed her pace, looking around the room.

Stiles' jaw dropped open as he watched how graceful Lydia was, she moved so quickly and gracefully and he was amazed. He was finally able to get up and he slowly walked toward the ice still watching Lydia skate.

Lydia did a few twirls and continued to skate around the rink. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw someone watching her. She peeked over at the silhouette in her view and realized it was Stiles. She quickly turned and skated past him, as if she hadn't seen him at all.

Stiles continued to stare at her and slowly started to skate towards her but got so caught up in watching her that he started to loose balance. "Woah!" He yelled as he slid quickly onto the ground slamming his back against the ice.

Lydia heard someone shout behind her and quickly stopped, spinning her head around and searching for who had screamed. She saw Stiles laying on the ice and promptly skated over to him. As she approached him, she looked down at him with concern. "Are you alright?" she asked, squatting down next to him.

Stiles groaned and then his eyes opened wide seeing Lydia. "Uhh.. um.. yeah. I'm fine." He slowly started to stand up looking at her smiling softly. "uh. Someone.. pushed me over, Im actually really good at skating." He said to her hoping she would believe him.

Lydia allowed a smirk to escape onto her face. "Oh ok." she said, nodding her head and looking around the rink. Besides them there were only two other skaters and they were at the other side of the rink. She giggled a little and held out her hand for him to take so she could help him up.

Stiles' heart started to beat a little bit faster and he slowly took Lydia's hand and started to stand up. "Th-thanks." he said to her nervously and swallowed. He looked around realizing that his lie was so obvious. He shook his head. "sorry."

Lydia quirked her head to the side and looked at Stiles, a little confused. "For what?" she asked, helping him to his feet and making sure he was stable before she let go.

Stiles shook his head. "i dont know." He looked down and made sure to keep his balance this time. "So what are you doing her Lydia?" He looked around as one of the skaters left and then he looked back at Lydia.

Lydia looked at Stiles and smiled. "Skating." she said, flicking one of her skates on the ice. "I come here almost everyday after school." she said, looking around the room.

Stiles chuckled looking down and mumbled "skating.. ahh." He looked back up at Lydia. "Well you are really good at it." He nodded and remembered how graceful you were. He wondered why you come here so much.

Lydia smiled and looked back at Stiles. "I love it here. When I skate it's like I'm in my own little world." she looked down at her skates and began to slowly skate in a circle. "It's very freeing." she said, finishing her little circle and stopping in front of Stiles again.

He tilted his head. "Hmm. I guess it is." He smiled at her as she skated around him and stopped in front of him. "Do you want to skate together?" He asked her and then regretted it the second after, "I mean..." He sighed/

Lydia looked at Stiles, a little confused. Besides the brief encounters in the hallways at school and his obvious crush on her, Stiles and her didn't interact much outside of school. She tilted her head to the side and looked at him for a few seconds, then decided on something to say. "Are you sure you'll be able to balance?" she asked, giggling a little and smiling.

Stiles looked at Lydia for a moment in shock. He never expected Lydia to notice him. He looked down. "Uh.. " He shook his head. "Yeah, I'm actually good this. That guy over there he pushed.." He pointed behind him looking back but no one was there. "Never mind." Stiles chuckled and smiled. "Yeah, i can keep my balance."

Lydia smiled and began to slowly skate backwards, away from Stiles. "Well," she said, waiting for him to join her. "Come on then." she turned around and slowly skated away from him, looking back every few seconds to make sure he wasn't on his back again.

Stiles smiled wide not believing the moment. Maybe this was his chance. Maybe his ten year plan had finally worked. He started to skate towards Lydia slowly hoping to catch up with her, but all he could think about was the fact that Lydia Martin had finally noticed him. He grinned as he skated toward her.

Lydia spun around to see Stiles skating at tortoise speed. She giggled and skated backwards, watching him struggle a little to stay upright. She finally stopped and skated towards him along side him and placing her hand on his back. "You have to keep your back straight." she said, pressing on his back to straighten it.

Stiles took a deep breath as Lydia touched his back. His heart started to beat like crazy and he got extremely nervous. He straightened his back up slowly and smiled wide. He could not believe what was happening. He was so happy yet so nervous. "I uh..." He took another breath and looked at Lydia.

Lydia ignored Stiles obvious excitement and continued to instruct him. "Bend your knees slightly and push with your right foot." she said, taking her hand off his back and demonstrating from him. "Like that." she said, looking back at him.

Stiles nodded watching Lydia's demonstration and started to repeat her actions. He hoped to god that he wouldn't fall again. The last thing he wanted to do right then was ruin this perfect moment by making a complete idiot of himself. He focused on not falling. 'Keep your balance' he told himself.

Lydia watched as Stiles copied her movements and smiled back at him. "There you go. You got it." she said, continuing to skate forward. She stayed close to him, just in case he fell again so she could try to catch him. "Just keep pushing with your opposite foot and remember. Don't let your toe pick dig into the ice."

Stiles nodded as he skated slowly and listened closely to what Lydia had to say. He was determined to get good at this, so they could skate more. "Wow, there are a lot of rules." He chuckled lightly as he concentrated on keeping his balance. He looked over at Lydia and smiled and lost concentration. He started to loose balance but put his hands out and made sure to stay up. "Woah."
